Paolo Botticelli’s Shopify rebuild, from catalog migration and SEO to custom warehouse integration.

project
overview
Paolo Botticelli had outgrown the ecommerce platform behind its business.
The existing store was built on an aging custom PHP system that had become increasingly difficult to maintain, develop and scale. Its visual experience and underlying technology no longer reflected the size of the catalog or the direction of the brand.
We rebuilt the ecommerce operation on Shopify from the ground up, combining a complete UX and visual redesign with custom development, content, SEO and integrations with existing business systems.
The goal was to create a modern ecommerce foundation capable of supporting a complex catalog, a better customer experience and future expansion beyond the Bulgarian market.

project
challanges
Replacing the storefront was only one part of the project. The real complexity was everything behind it.
Paolo Botticelli operates a large catalog with thousands of products and extensive combinations of colors, shoe sizes and variants. Moving such a structure to a new platform meant preserving its logic while also transferring customer records, email data and 10,000 historical orders.
The existing store had also accumulated years of organic visibility, making SEO continuity critical during the transition.
Finally, the new ecommerce platform still had to work seamlessly with the company’s existing warehouse infrastructure, where key operational information such as pricing, availability and store locations was managed.

project
execution
We approached the project as a complete ecommerce rebuild rather than a standard platform migration.
Our team redesigned the entire shopping experience, from navigation and filtering to product discovery, product pages, recommendations, cart behavior and promotional mechanics.
The catalog content was rebuilt alongside the platform. Product descriptions were rewritten, new meta titles and descriptions were created, and the legacy URL structure was carefully mapped to its new Shopify destinations.
To connect the new storefront with Paolo Botticelli’s existing operations, we developed a custom Shopify application that communicates directly with their warehouse system and keeps critical commerce data synchronized automatically.
Following the Bulgarian launch, we adapted the setup for Romania with its own content, pricing, currency and market-specific ecommerce experience.

project
outcome
Paolo Botticelli now operates on an ecommerce platform designed for where the business is going, not where it has been. The new Shopify store brings together a redesigned customer experience, richer product presentation, improved merchandising and a much more flexible technical foundation.
Day-to-day ecommerce operations are connected directly with the company’s warehouse infrastructure, reducing the dependency on disconnected systems and manual processes.
The architecture also made international expansion significantly easier, allowing the business to launch Romania as a separate market while continuing to manage both countries within the same broader ecommerce ecosystem.
